TOUR I -Dallas Arboretum and White Rock Lake Park Bath House Garden

Cost: $40.00
Depart Omni on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11am and return by 5pm.
(box lunch, water and bus snacks included)

TOUR II Earth-Kind®/WaterWise Demonstration Garden - Commissioner Dickey
- Afternoon Delights:

Cost: $30 (includes lunch, garden plans, plant lists, recipes and demonstration instructions)
Time: 12:00 – 3:00 pm

For all Thursday morning arrivals and/or late sleepers and their guest! Only a short 2.8 mile drive (off interstate) from the convention hotel to the EARTH-KINDTM/WaterWise Demonstration Garden at Commissioner Dickey’s office, 2311 Joe Field Road. Join us for garden tours and demonstrations of pesto making, edible garden ethnic salads, herb olive oils, hypertufa troughs and containers, easy propagation of roses, buffet table designs and much more.   more...(pdf)

TOUR III - Dr. Steve George's Tour - EARTH-KIND ® LANDSCAPE DESIGN SEMINAR AND ROSE TOUR

Cost: $75.00 per person
Classroom portion starts promptly at 8:30am, Thursday 3/4/2010
Bus leaves Omni Mandalay for the tour portion at 1:30pm, Thursday 3/4/2010
Estimated return time to Omni Mandalay 4:30-4:45pm
Materials, transportation, lunch & beverage included.
Boxed lunch menu to be determined - please specify turkey, ham, or vegan preference.
Conducted by four National Earth-Kind ® Coordinators: Steve Chaney, Mark Chamblee, Gaye Hammond, and Dr. Steve George.
This seminar and tour is designed to provide the most current Earth-Kind ® information on environmental landscape design, soil management, and roses direct from the experts in the national Earth-Kind ® movement. The classroom portion will start promptly at 8:30 am on Thursday at the Omni Mandalay, then at 1:30 pm you will be bused to nearby Farmers Branch to visit two of the most exciting rose gardens in the state of Texas. TOUR IV - Irving, Coppell and Farmers Branch area Private Gardens, a Community Garden, a Demonstration Garden and a Garden Center


Cost: $10.00 per person
Transportation is on your own. A map is included with your entry ticket. The gardens will be open between the hours of noon and 5pm on Thursday, April 8, 2010. Non registered friends and family of conference rgistrants may participate in this tour. Tickets will be available for purchase near the registration table on April 8th. TOUR V - Texas Discovery Gardens, Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House and Insectarium and Lake Cliff Park Demonstration Garden

Cost: $40.00
Depart the Las Colinas Omni by bus at 11:00am, Thursday, April 8 th and return by 5pm. Handicapped Accessible
Please include a box lunch choice from the menu below with your registration.

TOUR VI  Downtown Dallas and the Arts District


Cost: $45.00 Minimum
Depart the Las Colinas Omni by bus at noon, Saturday, April 10 th and return by 6pm. Lunch is at the Zodiac Room, Neiman Marcus. Handicapped Accessible.

TOUR VII East Dallas Gardens and DCMGA Educational Garden at Robert E. Lee Elementary School.


Cost: $30.00
Depart the Las Colinas Omni by bus at noon, Saturday, April 10th and return by 6pm. Some areas of private gardens may not be totally accessible to the handicapped.
Please indicate a lunch choice: #1 Beef Lasagna or #2 Spinach Lasagna.

TOUR VIII Combination of Dallas Arboretum and Texas Discovery Gardens


Cost: $35.00
Depart the Omni by bus on Saturday, April 10 at noon and return by 6pm. Price includes transportation and admissions. Handicapped Accessible
(Water and snacks are available on the bus. Food is available for your purchase at the Arboretum's cafes and restaurant.)

TOUR IX Rockwall County Master Gardener's Discovery Garden, Private Gardens and San Martino Winery.


Cost: $30.00
Depart the Las Colinas Omni by bus at noon, Saturday, April 10th and return by 6pm.
Rockwall County Master Gardeners will be providing food at the Discovery Garden. Handicapped Accessible

TOUR X Texas Buckeye Trail and the Trinity River Audubon Center Located in the Great Trinity Forest


Cost: $35
Depart the Las Colinas Omni by bus at noon, Saturday, April 10 th and return by 6pm. The Buckeye Trail is not entirely ADA accessible.
(box lunch, water and snacks included)
Please include a selection from the sandwiches listed below with your registration.
#1 Asiago Roast Beef - Oven-roasted beef, smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and our creamy horseradish sauce on our Asiago Cheese demi.
#2 Sierra Turkey - Smoked turkey breast with our smoky chipotle mayonnaise, field greens and red onions, on our Asiago Cheese focaccia.
#3 Mediterranean Veggie - Zesty Peppadew piquant peppers, feta, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and cilantro hummus on our Tomato Basil bread.

Tour XI  Katy Trail and Shopping on Knox Street

Cost: $15
Depart the Las Colinas Omni by bus at noon, Saturday, April 10 th and return by 5pm. Cost includes transportation. Lunch will be on your own at a restaurant of your choice. The Katy Trail is ADA accessible.
